NO MORE KOWTOWS!!

What is kowtow?
Physically, it's an act of kneeling and banging one's forehead against the ground.
Figuratively, it means showing a great respect in a servile manner.
The word was borrowed from Mandarin Chinese.
Having some worries about the future of its former colony under Communist China, Great Britain planned to send its representatives to Hongkong to watch over the national election, but decided to think again and forget all about it under the pressure from Beijing. This sudden about-face was reffered to as "kowtow" on the highly- esteemed newspaper.

500 years ago, kings of Okinawa had to kneel down 3 times, banging their royal forehead against the ground 3 times each kneeling, altogether 9 hangings in front of Chinese emissaries sent by Their Emperor. Otherwise, they are not allowed to get to the throne. It is called 三跪九叩頭 three kneelings and 9 head hangings. Japan has never done this to any country, and so, you think this is a long-gone ritual?
Oh, No! Look at this:
It's a set of dragon pillars, 60 ft. high, 12 ft. in radius and expected to be completed soon.
The set is going to stand at the gate of Naha harbor.
The city government says, it's a mere tourist attraction, nothing serious. But historically, dragon pillars mean "From here the land is ruled by gracious Emperor of China""Oh my celestial majesty, all is yours in this humble island Okinawa, and 10 thousand years for the Emperor!"
Conveniently in present day sense, it virtually shows your absolute obedience to Communist China, which increasingly shows every sign of being the biggest rogue state in history of mankind, and the worst kind of it.
"Showing a great respect in a servile manner" to a wrong party. Are you ready for this?
I have been doing street protests against the plan for 85 times so far, and intend to continue until the plan is abolished.
Here are reasons why this pillars should not be built:
1.Majority of people in Okinawa does not know the plan, and not happy with the plan when they come to know it.
2.It's an unfair exaggeration of historical Chinese influence.
3.There's been a trace of corruption ever since the project began.
4.Communist China is not your wonderful trade partner.
It's been a serious talk, but if challenge is one side of the coin, the other side is always opportunity.
It's our opportunity to become more aware of China threat. We have to have more reliable deference.
Thus it's our opportunity to call out revision of our constitution and the concept of our own history.
Opportunity in just another disguise.
